A hand-printed scarf adorned with plants beloved by Christopher, aka The Plant Kween, who designed this versatile piece with tonlé. Wear it around your neck, use it as a belt, or twist it up as a head wrap—this scarf can be the defining accessory for countless looks.
The royal blue and tomato colors both feature lush ferns, and potted plants cover the marigold.
The pieces in the Plant Kween x tonlé collection were created out of a shared appreciation for radical self love, healing, community care, and (of course) plants! These designs combine Christopher’s visionary style with tonlé’s sustainable, zero waste process, as each piece is made from reclaimed materials. This scarf is a gender-expansive style, designed as part of their work to disrupt the gender binarism in the fashion industry. Clothing in this collection allows fashion to be a form of self-expression and joy for tonlé's team making these pieces, and for the community wearing them.
Materials + CareThis piece is made from cotton jersey remnants (t-shirt offcuts) – and may include a blend of other natural plant-based fibers and some elastic. tonlé burn test each fabric to assure that it is at least 90% natural, plant-based fiber. To best take care of your zero waste upcycled garment (and to be as earth-friendly as possible), they recommend machine washing in cold water, and hanging to dry. This garment can be ironed on low heat on the back side of the print, but they really don’t think that’s necessary! Their t-shirt fabrics are carefully hand selected each week from remnant markets where large manufacturers bring discarded off-cuts and deadstock, and they do their best to select the most consistent, comfortable, soft, and high-quality fabrics. Fabrics are pre-washed and shrunk, but if you machine dry this garment it may shrink slightly.
