With a mid-calf crop that can be cheekily cuffed, side-zip closure, and two patch pockets on the front, these culottes can be paired with a crop top or tunic for a fun around-town ensemble or be worn at-home as loungewear.
This gender-expansive style is collaboratively designed with Christopher (aka Plant Kween). Christopher says: “Gurl, classic cool culottes are the lewk! These flowy, high-waisted pants are serving front pockets realness and have an elastic band at the waist, cuz that chic comfort is priority.”
The pieces in the Plant Kween x tonlé collection were created out of a shared appreciation for radical self-love, healing, community care, and (of course) plants! The clothing combines Christopher’s visionary style with tonlé’s sustainable, zero waste process, as each piece is made from reclaimed materials.
The fitted cut of these culottes combined with an elastic in the back is designed to be adaptable and fit many body types as part of tonlé's work to disrupt the gender binarism in the fashion industry. Clothing in this collection allows fashion to be a form of self-expression and joy for the team making these pieces and for our community wearing them.
tonlé is working to reject and disrupt gender binarism in the fashion industry. Because traditional size charts can often be quite binary - we invite you to consider the measurements included in their sizing chart when considering which items may fit you best.
Materials + Care
This piece is made from linen and or a cotton/linen blend – sourced as deadstock and offcuts left over from larger garment manufacturers. To best take care of your zero waste upcycled garment (and to protect the earth), we recommend machine washing in cold water and hanging to dry.
This garment can be ironed on medium heat, but after linen is washed a few times, it softens and does not need much ironing. Fabrics are pre-washed and shrunk, but if you machine dry this garment it may shrink slightly.
