This shirt is made from a heavyweight 100% cotton twill that has been naturally dyed; this yellow color is made with pomegranate rind and turmeric.
Natural dyes are safe for the environment, nontoxic, hypoallergenic, and an important part of India's handloom industry. They also tend to look, well, more "natural": saturation is less consistent with a natural dye, so you may see areas of slight difference in color. Natural dyes will fade slightly with each wash, as your shirt becomes softer. The dying was done at Sam Vegetable Colours Pvt. Ltd., a GOTS-certified natural dyer in Uttar Pradesh, India.
Care: Machine wash cold, no bleach, tumble dry low, hot iron.
The Fair Shirt Project was created to offer men looking for ethical clothing more options.
All of their shirts are produced at Work+Shelter, an ecoconscious production center in India that follows fair-trade labor practices. Like all clothing brands, they're a work in progress, constantly researching sustainable fabric and trim options and taking into account feedback from their customers so that they can evolve and improve.
The shirts are cut for the average bod; they drop straight down from the chest, with no tapering or enlarging.
