Bamboo Toothbrush

Description

One billion plastic toothbrushes are thrown away every year in the United States, creating 50 million pounds of waste annually, ending up in our oceans and landfills!

These bamboo toothbrush handles are made from Moso bamboo, a material that is biodegradable and can be composted. Bamboo is an incredibly versatile raw material. It's long lasting, anti-bacterial, has a tensile strength stronger than steel, releases 35% more oxygen compared to trees, and can grow up to a staggering 30 meters within just 3 years! Bamboo will also biodegrade naturally over time. Bamboo naturally repels water, making for a great toothbrush.

While the natural colored nylon bristles cannot be composted, we recommend to put them inside a larger container or bag that you're putting in the trash or recycling, to ensure they don't fall out and end up in the environment. The bristles are held in with metal staples, which could be recycled if eventually removed from the handle. You can also saw off the top of the brush and compost the handle, and put the head part in the trash.

  • Bristles are medium and are made of nylon 6.
  • 3 months lifespan per brush
  • low-waste
  • recyclable or compostable packaging
