Card - Collecting Scars
Description
"Maybe life isn't about avoiding bruises. Maybe it's about collecting scars to prove we showed up for it." -Hannah Brencher
Leah loved this quote from the moment she read it. She has a scar on her cheek from when she was an excited 5 year-old, running up the stairs in fleece socks to do a sit-up contest with her dad. Now she has a prominent scar running along her spine, the result of multiple surgeries that saved her life. She also has scars running along the upper part of her right leg where it was amputated and a long scar all the way down her left leg from transplanting a vein.
Scars tell a story. Some of them can be seen, some are invisible. They all count. And they're all beautiful because they signal the fact that you survived, that you showed up for life.
May this card be a reminder that pain isn't the end of the story. That extraordinary beauty can spring out of wounded hearts and bodies. That we were built to bloom.

Tiny and Snail (est. 2017) is run by a sister team, Grace and Leah. They create joyful illustrations and believe that technology will never be as magical as a paper card. Both were born and raised in Rapid City, SD and Leah/Tiny lives there with her family today. The road hasn’t been easy. In 2018, Leah/Tiny was in a life-altering accident while working her day job, building homes for Habitat for Humanity, which left her paralyzed from the chest down. In that brutal time, Tiny and Snail provided a life raft for Grace & Leah to cling onto. Their cards and art reflect the wonder of life and the ability to shine light into dark days.
