Tangie was started because Angie had enough of her annoying skin irritations. Something in her head told her to look at the laundry soap she was using. After all, we ‘wear’ our laundry soaps every day when we wear clothes. She looked at the ingredient labels on the laundry bottles, and to her surprise, there were no ingredients listed. No ingredients listed, is that legal? She ‘assumed’ all the ingredients had to be listed on products like these.

She then looked at her shampoo bottles, skin lotion, and kitchen cleaners. What she later learned about ingredients label requirements shocked her. Unlike food products, manufacturers of chemical products are not required to list ingredients on their containers or make them public! The industry simply expects us to trust their choice of ingredients and we just assume they will choose the safest ones.
What started as a quest for happier skin has grown into something much more. When Angie Ringler launched Tangie in 2012, she committed to only using natural ingredients. Driven by her passion for the best ingredients, as well as a personal commitment to respecting our planet, through Tangie, Angie has created magnificent products.
Care Instructions

Let the bar dry between uses. Like any bar of soap, if it sits in water, it will break down fast.

How To Use

Like any other ordinary conditioner, apply after shampooing your hair and apply the conditioner into all your strands. Leave it on your hair for a couple of minutes before rinsing it off thoroughly and then enjoy the feel of your refreshed locks.

Hold the bar in your hand and wipe it on your hair in a downward motion.

For long hair, try the ‘two low ponytails’ method. Part your hair in the back down the middle and pull each section over a shoulder, then swipe the bar down each section of hair.

Other ways to use:

In-Shower Rinse -Wipe the bar directly onto the hair in a downward motion with the hair shaft. Let sit for a minute or two, then rinse. You can also rub the bar between your two hands, then apply the conditioner onto your hair in a downward motion. Due to the slick feel of the conditioner bar, you may not ‘feel’ like you are getting conditioner on your hands, but you are! Rub the bar and wipe your hair a few times if needed.

In-Shower Spray - Cut the bar in half 4 times, making 8 pie wedges. In a small pan, add 8 ounces of water, add one piece of conditioner bar, heat water until almost boiling, then turn off the burner. Stir occasionally until completely dissolved. It takes about 5 minutes. Cool then pour liquid into your spray bottle or pumper, it will work in both types of dispensers.

For a thicker conditioner to pour into your hand, instead of spraying, add one more piece of conditioner bar to the steps listed above. Dissolve as many pieces as you like to get the consistency you prefer.

FOR BEST RESULTS: Settling will occur when you liquify the bar. Shake your spray or pumper bottle before dispensing the liquid conditioner.

Leave-In Conditioner - On damp or dry hair, apply a bit of the softened conditioner bar using your fingers and apply to hair or just tips to tame frizz. For deep conditioning, add a thick layer over all your hair, leave in for 20-30 minutes then rinse.

HOW TO SOFTEN THE BAR CONDITIONER. [just soak it in water overnight]

1. Place one conditioner bar inside a lidded container. Use a container that is wider than the bar to accommodate the increase in bar size so you are able to easily remove it once softened, if you choose not to store it in that same container.
2. Fill with a few ounces of water to cover the bar, let sit for 24 hours, flipping over halfway for each side of the bar to soak up water.
3.The bar will plump up in size and be soft, like the texture of thick cream cheese.
4. The more water you use, the larger and softer the bar gets.
5. Drain off the water and store in a container of your choice.
6. After the initial soak, you can easily adjust the water to bring the bar to a softness you like best.

The bar will be a thick and soft consistency which works well for leave-in and deep conditioning purposes.
