Clothing Swap Information

 

Tickets will be available for purchase in store beginning Monday, October 7 until they are sold out. Please note that we can only accept cash for ticket purchases.

This event will provide an opportunity to say goodbye to clothing you no longer wear, freshen up your wardrobe, AND support an amazing organization!


SWAP INFO:

  • The swap will take place at Terra Shepherd Boutique from 5-7PM on Sunday, October 20. Entry to the event closes at 6:30PM.
  • A VIP ticket option is available for FIRST access from 4-5PM. 25 VIP tickets are available.
  • This is a not-for-profit event. ALL proceeds will be donated to The Transformation Project.
  • Tickets may be purchased in advance at the shop for $30. If you bring in clothing for the swap, your ticket will be $20. Cash only please.
  • VIP tickets may be purchased in store for $45. If you bring in clothing for the swap, your ticket will be $30. Again, cash only please.

 

HAVE CLOTHES TO SWAP?

  • Drop off a MAXIMUM of 25 pieces at Terra Shepherd Boutique during our normal business hours until October 16. 
  • We will accept ADULT seasonally appropriate garments, shoes, and accessories. Please do not bring in children’s clothing, out of season clothing, or jewelry boxes.
  • Items MUST be clean and in good to excellent condition—PLEASE do not bring clothing that is stained, unwashed, or in need of repair. If you wouldn't give it to a friend or be excited to accept it yourself, don't bring it in. 
  • We welcome all clothing sizes as well as feminine and masculine styles.
  • All brands accepted.


HOW YOU CAN HELP:


This amazing event is labor intensive, and community help is needed! 


Please email hello@terrashepherd.com if you are able to help with sorting donations; set-up before the event; cleanup after the event; or delivering donations to Marty’s Closet. 


THE FINE PRINT:

  • Any clothing that remains after the event will be donated to Marty’s Closet.
  • We have just two fitting rooms available. We ask that you wear layers that will make it easy to try on items in our general store space.
  • We are limiting take home items to 20 per person.
  • Do not take items home with the intent to resell them or if you are unsure that you will wear an item. 
  • RSVP and stay up to date on all of the details on our Facebook event page. We will share sneak peeks there too! 


ABOUT THE TRANSFORMATION PROJECT:


Their mission is to support and empower transgender youth, young adults, and their families while educating communities in SD and the surrounding region about gender identity and expression.


ABOUT MARTY’S CLOSET:


Marty’s Closet offers clothing and styling free of charge to all gender-diverse South Dakotans within a 90 mile radius of SD that reflects their authentic self.
