Gentle enough for the face yet effective enough for hard working hands! Tallow is highly biocompatible & moisturizing, jojoba is nutrient rich & helps to soften rough spots, while beeswax conditions & protects - so crack open a jar & get fluffed!
Tallow, coming from our bovine brethren, is molecularly much closer to the lipids in the oils your body produces, so it delivers a moderate and pH balanced boost, even gradually helping to heal the skin, causing you to need less over time. Vellum pairs their locally sourced, pasture raised tallow with just as local beeswax, Arizona grown jojoba oil, essential oils & absolutes, and truly natural colorings to bring you some of the best and most unique, thoughtfully crafted skincare out there! What you put ON your skin is just as important as what you put IN your mouth, which is why they use upcycled & local food grade ingredients, all safe enough to eat! Slather liberally anywhere your skin needs a little love. For use on lips, hands, face, ass... tallow’s great for skin when it's been fed grass!

Tallow is rich in the same types of lipids found in youthful, vibrant skin, and is chock full of vitamins A, D, E & K. The fatty acids in tallow are much closer in molecular structure and size to the oils our own skin produces, making it more bioavailable. The plant oils more commonly used in skin care products tend to have a larger molecule size. The smaller molecular mass of tallow allows it to penetrate the skin barrier, actually reaching below the surface to get a little more than just skin deep!
Aside from its multitude of glorious skin benefits, using tallow from animals raised on small, regenerative agricultural focused farms is one of the most eco-conscious ways to source ingredients.
Vellum Street was founded in 2015 by Melissa Lynn Torre, a chef interested in both nutrition and food sustainability. After battling an auto-immune disease for decades and finding no relief via traditional channels, Melissa began to realize many commercially available soaps & skin care products are formulated with ingredients you would never eat, so why slather them on your skin, which, like your digestive system, absorbs everything you put on it?! Vellum Street combines Melissa’s love of food & creating in the kitchen with her desire to improve nutrition and food sustainability for both her and those around her struggling with similar issues.
